What is Lucid Dreaming?

The basic definition of lucid dreaming requires nothing more than becoming aware that you are dreaming. However, the quality of lucidity can vary greatly. When lucidity is at a high level, you are aware that everything experienced in the dream is occurring in your mind, that there is no real danger, and that you are asleep in bed and will awaken shortly. With low-level lucidity, you may be aware to a certain extent that you are dreaming, perhaps enough to fly or alter what you are doing, but not enough to realize that the people are dream representations, or that you can suffer no physical damage, or that you are actually in bed.

Lawyers, Guns and Money

Oh my goodness, I have to tell you all about the STRANGEST dream I had. See, I went to Notre Dame, graduated with honors, went to law school (!), was on law review, was on editorial board for law review, got a good job, AND passed the bar in two states. Now this is just crazy talk because I'm a girl. And we ALL know that girls can't be lawyers. Silly silly dream. Thank goodness I woke up and was reminded at work that I there is NO POSSIBLE WAY I could be a lawyer. Thank goodness for that legal assistant who asked me if the lawyer would be filing an amended petition and to let her know what *HE* decides to do. Oh, silly me, I thought I filed that petition. Those dreams--so lifelike! It even looked like my signature on that petition!

Oh. Wait. It WAS my signature. And my bar number. And my name. Hmmm, maybe girls can be lawyers after all?

In case you are wondering what's going on, I filed a petition last week. Today, one of the defendants asked why they were served. The legal assistant defintely used the masculine pronoun when referring to the attorney. This really ticked me off. First, my signature is pretty legible. And my name was typed under my signature. And "Attorneys for the plaintiff" was typed below that. It is really offensive to me that someone automatically assumes when speaking to me that I am not the attorney. And how on earth am I supposed to fix this problem without coming off as a pretentious wench? I'm sure some of you think I'm overreacting. However, keep in mind that this is certainly NOT the first time this has happened to me, and I've only been practicing for two years! Maybe things are more progressive on the coasts, but here there is an assumption that a woman in a legal career is the paralegal or assistant, NOT the attorney. This makes me incredibly sad because what does that say about our world? I am just as capable as any man, a fact that I feel I have proven again and again and again and again. Why do I have to keep fighting this battle?

I know life's not fair, but really, all I want is a fighting chance. I just want to start at the same level as my male colleagues. Just once, I'd like to pick up the phone and not have to overcome the assumption that a female voice means the caller can't possibly be a lawyer.

Dream Moods Dictionary

Abbey
To see an abbey in your dream, signifies spirituality, peace of mind and freedom from anxiety. You are in a state of contentment and satisfaction. Help for you is always around the corner.
To see an abbey in ruins, indicates feelings of hopelessness. You have a tendency to not finish what you started.
Abbot
To see an abbot in your dream, suggests that someone has power over you and are making you do things that you do not necessarily want to do. You are feeling confined or restricted. The dream indicates that you will experience many obstacles and setback before achieving success and prestige.
Abbreviations
To see abbreviations in your dream, may represent the initials of someone in your life. The abbreviations could stand for an organization or a common acronym or it may spell out some hidden message or advice. The dreaming mind likes to make use of puns, as well as shorthand messages. For example, "CD" could be a pun on a "seedy" situation. "AA" could stand for Alcoholics Anonymous and thus point to the dangers or your excesses and negative behaviors. "Inc" may represent an "inkling", hunch or suspicious you have about a situation.

Smoking herb with Hotties

It starts off with me in traffic court for some speeding ticket and I'm waiting for my name to be called. So, this case comes up with some guy who got busted with weed. Fast forward and I'm sitting in my car at a stop light and he comes strolling by and I ask him if he wants a ride. He gets in and I ask him to if he has any herb and he proceeds to get out a giant over sized joint....We blaze and the smoke attracts some chicks walking down street and we asked them if they wanted to smoke. They get in and we all blaze and start all sort of shenanigans. I don't remember much about the shenanigans but the chicks were hot as shit.

New Series of Dream Moods!

A
To see the letter "A" in your dream, represents the beginning of a new stage. You are moving on to something new and grand. Alternatively, the letter "A" invokes feelings of superiority and grandeur. It may indicate the name or initial of a person.
Abalone
To see or eat abalone in your dream, indicates a transitional period in your life. The symbol may also be a play on words to indicate feelings of "loneliness".
Abandonment
To dream that you are abandoned, suggests that it is time to leave behind past feelings and characteristics that are hindering your growth. Let go of your old attitudes. A more direct and literal interpretation of this dream indicates you have a fear of being deserted, abandoned, or even betrayed. It may stem from a  recent loss or a fear of losing a loved one. The fear of abandonment may manifest itself into your dream as part of the healing process and dealing with losing a loved one. It may also stem from unresolved feelings or problems from childhood. Alternatively, the dream indicates that you are feeling neglected or that your feelings are being overlooked. Perhaps the dream is a metaphor that you need to approach life with "reckless abandon" and live more freely.
To abandon others in your dream, suggests that you are overwhelmed by the problems and decisions in your life.

Sexual Dreams and You!

This isn't apropos of anything. I just found myself on a dream interpretation website and thought I'd bring it to 11points. I like dream interpretation -- nothing is what it seems, everything means something else. No matter what Freud said, a cigar is never a cigar.

For today, I'm analyzing 11 different sex dream subjects to let you know what they REALLY mean.

  1. Dream of a dominatrix, find God.
If you dream about...a dominatrix it means that... you're looking to find God. Apparently, dreaming that you're a dominatrix means you're looking to step up your spirituality. Not sure how digging your spiked high heel into someone until they say the safety word (most likely "razzmatazz") is a sign that you're looking to be born again, but hey, who am I to argue with abook?
  2. If you dream about... watching someone get naked it means that... you're compassionate. Watching someone get undressed shows you want to understand that person better so you can empathize and become more comfortable with them. I suppose this even applies if you're watching them get undressed through binoculars outside their window.
  3. If you dream about... castration it means that... you feel uncreative. Makes sense, getting your genitals lopped off is akin to not being able to express yourself by painting seascapes or making a bunch of pots.
  4. If you dream about... orgies it means that... you need to have fewer hobbies. Take a note: If, in your dream, you're getting spread too thin by simultaneous sex with a half dozen people... maybe it means you're getting spread too thin in real life. So give up stamp collecting or you're going to keep dreaming of getting gangbanged.
  5. If you dream about... an erection it means that... you should finally start writing that novel you're always talkin' about. Erections don't mean erections in dreams. They mean you have power and energy you need to use, and, most commonly, use in a creative way.
  6. If you dream about... wearing a chastity belt it means that... you're too protective. Clearly. If you want to put your lady genitalia under lock-and-key, it's a sign that you need to relax.
  7. If you dream about... condoms it means that... well, it depends on the condom. If the condom is wrapped, it means you need to start letting other people voice their opinions. If you're a woman and you dream about a man wearing a condom, it means you feel emotional protected. And finally, if the condom is unwrapped, it means you're sexually frustrated (naturally, because every dream interpretation has to be the opposite of logical).
  8. If you dream about... incest it means that... you forgive a family member for an argument. Seriously. Your subconscious mind rewards them sexually. And yes, that's gross, but it doesn't mean (1) you're sexually attracted to your sister or (2) that you should take the dream as a sign and act on it in real life. She gives you a nice birthday present, just thank her with a heartfelt hug.
  9. If you dream about... performing oral sex on yourself it means that...you're a selfish bastard. But hey, I respect you for dreaming of something so ambitious.

Dream Moods

Symbols are the language of dreams. A symbol can invoke a feeling or an idea and often has a much more profound and deeper meaning that any one word can convey. At the same time, these symbols can leave you confused and wondering what that dream was all about.
Acquiring the ability to interpret your dreams is a powerful tool.  In analyzing your dreams, you can learn about your deep secrets and hidden feelings. Remember that no one is a better expert at interpreting your dreams than yourself

Every detail, even the most minute element in your dream is important and must be considered when analyzing your dreams. Each symbol represents a feeling, a mood, a memory or something from your unconscious. Look closely at the characters, animals, objects, places, emotions, and even color and numbers that are depicted in your dreams. Even the most trivial symbol can be significant.

Interesting Dream

I was in a building in a busy downtown city and all of a sudden alarms were going off and it was being evacuated. Some type of chemical/poison was released somehow. So as I exited the building, I am standing along side a busy one way street; traffic coming from right to left as I was facing across the street.

Looking over, I see a woman with a red sweater sitting on a bench looking at me inquisitively and I at her. I start crossing the street and continue to ponder why she is examining me so closely and the significance. I get to close enough to her (but not out of the street), and realize and say to her, "I'm dreaming, aren't I?!" After this realization, I turn and face the oncoming traffic and see my car coming towards me (driver unknown)...in real life and in the dream, I had a sticker on the hood that said, "Satori". I yelled "Satori", banged my hands on the car and realize it drove right through me. Then I was standing in more oncoming traffic, but I couldn't hold onto the lucid state and was wisked away into unconsciousness again.
